Mathjax can be inputted into any textbox in an exam script or question creaion creation screen.
Latex LaTeX markup should be placed between one of the following pairs of delimiters:
$$...$$ - inline math
$$$ - new line...$$$ - display math
This is different to conventional LaTeX markup, which uses $...$ and $$...$$ respectively.
Students
Textbox questions can use the mathjax MathJax type for student editoranswers. this This allows students to use mathjax MathJax and see there answered render the math rendered during an exam:

If Rogo is using the tinymce editor then admins can preview the mathjax MathJax they have entered using the 'preview' Preview button:
If Rogo is not using the tinymce editor and just the plain text editor. Then mathjax MathJax preview is also available to admins when they are creating questions:
